BASILICATA (or LUCANIA)

Basilicata (or Lucania) is a region of southern Italy. It covers an extensive part of the southern Apennines and the 92% of its area is covered by mountains and hills. Basilicata has one short south-western coastline on the Tyrrhenian Sea, between Campania and Calabria , and a longer one to the south-east on the Jonian Sea.

Nowadays, Basilicata is not as popular as other Italian regions but as the other Italian regions is very rich in history and nature. In fact it offers to its visitors many attractions such as the "Sassi" in Matera, the natural spas of Rapolla or Terme La Calda, the National Park of Pollino, the beautiful and clear sea of Maratea and Metaponto.
